ED 501 - Social and Emotional Learning - Helping Students Thrive - 3 Graduate Credits
This course will focus keys to successful social and emotional learning. Utilizing research based strategies that have a positive impact on student learning will be shared.
For students to thrive in their high-speed and hyper-connected environments, it is imperative for them to learn important competencies that go beyond academic standards. This course examines Social and Emotional Learning skills needed for students to become self-motivated, productive, life-long learners. Recent research data, classroom activities, resources, tools, and strategies are provided on topics including mindfulness, executive functions, student agency, resiliency, responsibility, persistence, integrity, empathy, gratitude and other intrapersonal and interpersonal skills students need to find success both now and in the future. This course will use the resource by Silver and Stafford (2017), Teaching Kids to Thrive: Essential Skills for Success.

-Credit is offered through CSU Pueblo/Colorado State University Pueblo.
-Coursework is submitted through Schoology.
-You will pay for the course with iFireUP and we will send you a link to complete the online registration with CSU Pueblo.
-Once you register with CSU Pueblo, you will be provided with your NET ID number. You can expect this email approximately 7-10 days later. Keep record of this number, it is your student number!
-Once your coursework is submitted to iFireUP and we submit your grade, CSU Pueblo will enter it. This process can take up to 14 days.
