ED 501 Curriculum Development and Understanding the Importance of Alignment
This course will focus on curriculum design, development, implementation, alignment, and evaluation. Participants will examine curriculum components and develop an aligned curriculum plan.
Curriculum design and alignment will be researched and reviewed. Participants will gain an understanding of the historical background of curriculum development and formulate a design for development. The process of evaluating curriculum and will be studied and participants will determine how to evaluate curriculum and use the information to guide instruction. Curriculum alignment and design are critical components in maximizing student success. This course will focus on strategies to assist educators in developing an aligned curriculum. Participants will gain a strong understanding of curriculum alignment, development, design, implementation, and evaluation. Participants will closely study a district curriculum plan and determine if they can make improvements. Overall, this course will focus on the an in depth look at curriculum implementation and integration.
